I've been under the impression that models [especially those of the Haute Couture variety] are supposed to be as unique as snowflakes, the operative word being "Unique". From what I've understood after perusing scores of magazines, runway show pictures and advertisements Models are supposed to be interesting looking, almost ugly in their beauty.
Their glaring, ill-favored, somewhat appalling features are what sets these super [successful] models apart from the rest of us mere folks.
Which is why I love the models who make you love them despite their imperfect perfections. Models like, Gemma "The Forehead" Ward, who at the age of 16 became one of the youngest "It girls" featured in Vogue. She was also the face for Calvin Klein's "Obsession Night for Men", only the second model to do so, after Kate Moss.

Kate Moss, who has single-handedly set so many trends [ok, ugg boots, bad choice] and been the face of so many controversies, the whole waif debate and heroin-chic life style...So, she does heroin? What model hasn't dabbled in a little gift of nature now and then?
Who else can be so spectacular?
For argument's sake, mayhaps, Gisele Bündchen, whose 1999 cover of Vogue reportedly ended the "heroin-chic" era and ushered in the return of the Sexy Model.
These are real models! They stand out simply because: they are one of a kind. To borrow from many a rap songs, "Often imitated, never duplicated".
Which begs the question, Who died [or pissed off the media enough] to make Agyness Deyn "the next great supermodel"? Yes, she's cute and has a great body, but where's the stop & stare quality? Where's that certain je ne sais quoi?

I've seen about 32189274927 girls with short cropped blond hair and elvish features just walking around town. Unless, their all paying homage to the "ambassador of British youth culture", I would have to say, Agyness is disappointingly common and rather bland.
Boring!
Also, she has reportedly lied about her age. She was allegedly born in '83 and not '86 as she has claimed. Tsk Tsk, lying about your age is supposed to be a funny little quirk about middle-aged, divorced, big haired women. Not something a supermodel, who plays an influential part in moulding young fashionistas, should be doing. Eurgh.
I just don't understand how, Agyness [real name: Laura] is even slightly compared to Kate [real name: Kate]?! There's nothing sui generis about Aggie, whose patent pixie cut, was actually sported by Kate in 2001. Kate seriously reigns supreme.
And I'm left wondering, "Is there something about Aggie?"
