I felt more like a folksy, free spirit on her journey to becoming one with Gaia than sophisticated, Caped-crusader in this monochrome, striped cape from H&M. I styled it with a cropped orange button down and wet-look leggings. Fringed-suede boots and a shopper bag with tasseled zips also from H&M, completed the look.
On another note, my birthday is coming up in a couple of days and it hit me how I'm not as excited as I usually am. I like to think this is a sign of maturity but I'm afraid that I've literally just become that lazy. I have no idea what I want (as a gift), what I want to do, or even what I want to wear.
In the last year, I have changed in many ways - I have become more outspoken about my personal beliefs; I have become actively involved in standing up against ideas I find repulsive; I am 89% certain I am a Sufi; I have way more empathy and am patient with others'. In fact, my ability to overlook things that usually incense me has increased exponentially.
And believe me, LOTS of things incense me.
For example: people who wear stockings with open-toed shoes. I hate it. It offends me visually.
But with time, and slightly eclectic taste, I've come to understand that at least, style is extremely personal and cannot truly be defined by any rules.
So if you're one of those people who wears stockings with open-toed shoes, wear on, my friend! Wear on!
