Growing up, I had n exorbitant collection of all things Barbie: outfits, accessories, homes, vehicles, even family members! Every fortnight or so, I would take out all of my Barbies, Kens, Skippers, Todds and other "friends of Barbie" and play with them. Now, playing with them meant dressing them with ridiculous attention to detail-painstakingly labouring over the setting, theme and choice of outfits for each doll, only to get tired once they were all "ready" and putting them away.
It was all very tedious and looking back I realized I have now missed my true calling-being a stylist. This stems from a lack of patience, I just don't have that controlling aspect in my nature[ha!] and I get easily frustrated when my advice [read: order] is ignored.
In my lifetime, I've managed to give 3 people makeovers [that they asked for], all for nothing.
You spend all day hounding someone who wants to "change" and asks for your advice to try something "different", only to watch them squirm, like they're doing YOU a favor- yeah, this is how I want to spend my saturday, bullying a friend into wearing a different variation of a dress shirt, "let's try beige instead of white, come on" and watching them go, "no, no, this beige..it's too out there"..ARGH! I just want to know why people say they want to change and then kick up a fuss when an oppurtunity presents itself?
I wish people were like my lovely, lifeless and more importantly obedient Barbies that I could dress and style as my little heart pleased. I've given this matter a lot of thought and if it were possible, I'd definitely like to buy the following*:
1) Giselle Bündchen
2) Aishwarya Rai
3) Liv Tyler
I am sure this list used to be bigger but I've kind of forgotten it. Fret not, I will think hard- when I get a chance and update.
Now, I'd love to own these women [in a completely normal manner] and play with them [in a completely normal manner]. I'd love to dress them up, do their hair and makeup and well, that's about it.
For now, I would like to introduce you to the personification of Beauty that is former Miss World and current Bollywood [India's Hollywood] actress, Aishwarya Rai.
Enjoy!
*Angelina Jolie was on this list until she became the skanky, man-stealing, baby-having "humanitarian" that she is. Humanitariasm starts at home, Jolie! You know, by not stealing another woman's husband. Dirt bag.

Aishwarya Rai is the most beautiful woman walking on this earth! I worship her.
ReplyDeleteAishwarya Rai is beautiful all right, but can't act or dress herself for nuts- so you playing Barbie with her would probably guarantee her a few decent outfits, at the very least (living in India, I'm sick and tired of seeing her everywhere- so sorry if I sound grumpy).
ReplyDeleteAs for Angelina, I have nothing against her. If anything, Jen Aniston was the one who came off looking like a whiny bore...
